Rain check? What to wear on rainy days
Wake up; check your email, scroll the through news, Instagram, & Facebook. Finally, you get to today’s weather forecast to find rain clouds and humidity - yuck. If you’re wondering what to wear on a rainy day and where to get a cool pair of rain boots, this post is for you.
Parched anyone? California is going into its 4th year of this crazy drought. Luckily, there have been a few showers in our forecast but still not enough to revive our landscape. In the meantime, our weather essentials include, trench coats, umbrellas, and rain boots.
Waterproof jackets are a must; especially those with a belt giving a more flattering fitted waistline. The key is to keep your outfit comfortable and breathable by lightly layering underneath. Find that balance without sacrificing the fit and shape of the ensemble. It doesn’t have to be unfashionable, so try playing around with colors to brighten up your day. Gray cloudy weather can naturally make our sprits low so cheer up with lively bright hues.
Here, I’m bringing sunshine in the form of feet. Keeping it simple, you might want to stick with your black rain boots, as they are obviously more versatile. I found an amazing price point on a pair of black Hunter boots for around $80 (linked below). You can also play around with the color of your umbrella too, so I linked some really cool options from Target below. I really like the dome shaped ones.
For those of you like me, who are not afraid to look like a walking Crayola box, I linked some colorful options. To be completely honest, the traditional calf-height boot can cut you off depending on your height and body type. Instead, opt for an ankle boot style that will go great with your skinny jeans (also linked below). This will make it easier to add that pop of color but less aggressively.
