Werk Style: What I Wore

We're gonna need you to stand up and represent!  In other words, we need you to work it, #werk it.  Whether you're headed to a meeting for work, play, or both you'll need to make the most of your outfit. After attending a conference in the middle of no where, Golden Gate Park, I sat down to write this post. Our first question before heading out the door is, "what to wear?"  Today, I'm going for a more polished look but this is a fun event after all. So I had to get a little creative.

Here, I'm remixing this blazer from this previous post but this time around I'm pairing it with a bandage skirt. For me, this is the perfect transition item since it's easy to dress up and down.  We can take this from day to night easily. As the sun is winding down, I found myself exploring the grounds. I can never say no to the great outdoors, no matter how high the stiletto.

First impressions are lasting, so we want to be sure to make it count. Whether at work or out and about, the reality is that people judge you based on what they see before you even speak.  On the left-coast, things are more relaxed yet you still don't want be that person showing up to a conference looking like you've just been Netflixin' and chilling.

Showing up looking the part will give you an entry-way into the types of conversations that have value. Let's be honest, we don't connect enough face-to-face due to tech and our access to media. Making a killer first impression makes a huge difference and sets the stage for creating your network. Be that business card people hang onto!

Enough with the first impression rant, let's get into this ensemble. Pair a blazer with a fitted skirt and button down or blouse. Maintaining formal attire but still fun and flirty.
